Great interview. It will be exciting to see how online real estate companies develop over the next few years after the property slump picks back up. The ability to search for houses by school catchment area or by transportation route all from one web page will be very exciting when it comes together with web 2.0.

There are some pretty big players at these conferences. That's pretty exciting that large companies are embracing these events. Excellent interview. It helps us to understand the goals of large companies moving forward online.

Hi Carey, Nat Wallen here also from Charleston. I have developed a new site called www.CharlestonPropertyBuzz.com. This is an IDX site that incorporates web2.0. It has a 5 star rating system and as consumers rate a property they are prompted to add their comments to the property blog. So each property has the ability for the community to get involved. I made a video which shows the 5 star rating and blog system in action. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KenOVbI_G80 Thanks! Nat Wallen

Carey, Your video interview is an example of why my wife, Darlene, and I launched http://ViewThisHome.com We are both KW agents in Charleston, SC and we felt that there was a need for a site dedicated to videos pertaining to all things real estate. Just as the public wants more control over what they can access on the web we felt that it would be great if agents could have more control and personal involvement in marketing their listings through video. Our site is designed for the do-it-yourselfer or have videos professionally produced and posted to our site, even virtual tours are welcome. Agents can email the videos and in some cases upload the videos to the MLS or embed them into their own website. We are finding that agents who have videos are getting more showings and are able to eliminate properties that clients are interested in by viewing the video of the listing and neighborhood before spending time and gas showing the property. We are also able to brand the site for the real estate company. We will be at the NAR Convention booth #1559 and would love an opportunity to discuss Web 2.0 further with you.
